||7 part Lecture / Concert Series
Boxford Cable Access Television, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, will partner with Charles Sawyer, author of The Arrival of B.B. King, to present 5 free lectures and 2 free concerts at a consortium of 4 area libraries starting Wed, July 10, 6:30 pm, at the Flint Library in Middleton. Boxford, Topsfield and Georgetown libraries will each host a lecture. Sawyer will present a condensed version of his History of Blues in America, a semester-long course, he taught at Harvard Extension School for 11 years.
A free concert featuring 2120 South Michigan Avenue blues band with special guest Willie J. Laws will be held at Gould Barn in Topsfield on Wed, July 17 at 6:30 pm. A second free outdoor concert will be held at the Georgetown Peabody library on Wed, August 21 at 6:30 pm.
This series and concerts are free, and all area residents are invited to attend. If you like blues or are curious about American blues history, then this series is for you!
All lectures and concerts will be video recorded and distributed to the Boxford, Topsfield, Middleton and Georgetown cable public access stations for re-broadcast. They can also be viewed on-demand on your computer, tablet or smart phone at www.BoxfordCableTv.com.
